What is the best blue line stop to see the navy pier?

We are staying by Ohare and are going to take the Blue line in to downtown. We are wanting to do a little walking around sight seeing and then end up at the Navy Pier for the evening. No more than 1-2 miles of walking though as it will be real hot this weekend.

Do not get off the Blue Line at Grand unless you just want to transfer to a bus and go directly to Navy Pier. The Blue Line stop is not within reasonable walking distance and all you'd see is a run down but gentrifying neighborhood.

I'm not sure how much walking around you would want to do or what exactly you would want to see. You can get off at Washington and walk east toward the lake. Millennium Park will be on just the other side of Michigan Avenue. That is a popular place to walk through and see the sculptures in the park. You could then walk further east toward the lake and walk along the lake shore. If you walk as far south as you can see, you'll get to the museum campus where the planetarium, the Shedd aquarium, and the Field Museum are, but they all charge admission.

Navy Pier is about 1.5 miles north of Washington and Michigan. Walk up Michigan to Grand and turn right. If this is too much walking for you, go back to State Street. The #29 State Street bus goes to Navy Pier. State Street is the next street east of where you got off the train. If you board the bus within 2 hours after you first boarded the train and use the same transit card you used to board the train, it will only cost an additional 25 cents.

You might instead want to visit the Willis Tower (which Chicagoans call the Sears Tower). That is the tallest building in the US. If so, take the Blue Line to Clinton, get off there and follow the signs toward Union Station. Then look up in the sky, you'll see it. There is an observatory near the top. It is not cheap. They also have the new skyboxes that let you walk out over the street on a glass floor.
You could then backtrack to Navy Pier.

You can also take a BOAT from the Sears Tower to Navy Pier:

Incidentally, I saw your other question but couldn't answer before it was closed. The Rosemont train station is about 3/4 mile south of the Hyatt on River Road where it meets I-190. First you go past I-90, then I-190, there is about a block between them. You can walk or there is a small parking lot between the two highways. Note your space number and put cash into the corresponding slot in the honor box that's along the wall before the train station entrance.

If that lot is full, get on I-190 and go one exit east (away from O'Hare) to Cumberland. There is a large parking garage and train station there. That one is never full.
